My Stories

I grew up in a family where historic cars and motoring were part of the fabric of life. My father, a trained engineer always had projects on the go in the garage and it was his Lotus 7 that gave me the bug for bracing, visceral motoring. I clearly remember the actual moment, aged 8 descending through Craner Curves at Donington Park on a track day with my father at the wheel. I was unable to comprehend how we weren’t flying off the track at such speeds. I had to turn my head sideways so I could breath but the exhilaration still lives with me now...
I have raced with the VSCC, starting with a Riley Imp and progressing to a 3.5 single seater Alvis. My father became chairman of the HGPCA and I was fortunate enough to campaign our 1953 works HWM Grand Prix car. The highlight without doubt was competing at a number of the Goodwood Revivals in it.
Now I'm a proud owner of a 1964 MK 2 Jaguar and a 1956 Buckler and hopefully I'll be returning to circuit racing with it soon. Once you've caught the racing bug it never leaves you...
