1951 Talbot Lago T26 chassis (modified) with chassis plate
Totally rebuilt 4.5 litre engine
Original Talbot Lago block, timing cover, sump etc. All chemically cleaned and vacuum impregnated. Aluminium parts vapour blasted.
Crankshaft from later Hotchkiss version of engine. Stronger and running shell big end bearings. Connecting rods from the same source. Crank crack tested and re-ground, new white metal main bearings.
Bespoke forged aluminium pistons from Ross of California.
Compression ratio increased.
Flywheel, crank and reciprocating components balanced.
New bespoke camshafts by Kent Cams.
All new timing sprockets and chains.
New aluminium competition type cylinder head with new valves, guides, springs and associated components.
Rocker gear from Hotchkiss engine with new rocker shafts and push rods.
Oil pump overhauled and oil system modified and components fitted to allow full flow oil filtration.
All built up with assembly lubricant and all joints made and sealed in anticipation of test run.
Requires carburettors and manifold, exhaust manifold and distributor, plus starter motor.
Rear axle modified and rebuilt to T26 GS specification.
Front suspension built and fitted using fabricated wishbones and rotary dampers.
Water pump modified and rebuilt.
Correct, large pre-selector gearbox.
